Building on the discussion held during the AdriBioPro2026 High-Level Panel “Improving Skills Availability for the South Adriatic Blue Economy,” Dr Michael Chatziefstathiou, EUSAIR Pillar 1 Coordinator, invited SA SKILLS partners and stakeholders who are not yet involved to join the EUSAIR Pact for Blue Skills.

The Pact is open to interested organisations and stakeholders committed to strengthening blue economy skills, cooperation and knowledge exchange across the Adriatic-Ionian region.

Upcoming opportunities

The current Chair of the Pact, Miško Rađenović from the Adriatic Blue Growth Cluster, together with the Vice-Chairs and the Secretariat, is preparing two upcoming activities:

  • the first General Assembly, planned for November 2026;

  • an open Thematic Day, planned for December 2026.

These events will provide an important opportunity for the SA SKILLS project to present its work, methodologies and practical tools to Pact members and other interested stakeholders.

They will also create space for further cooperation, exchange of experience and possible wider use of the approaches and instruments developed through SA SKILLS.

From project results to wider regional cooperation

The invitation is particularly relevant to the wider objective of SA SKILLS: ensuring that project results can be transferred, reused and capitalised beyond individual project activities.

Through participation in the EUSAIR Pact for Blue Skills, SA SKILLS partners can contribute their experience in areas such as:

  • identification of blue economy skills gaps;

  • cross-border education and training;

  • labour-market responsive learning models;

  • qualification and competence frameworks;

  • practical training infrastructure;

  • digital collaboration and networking;

  • cooperation between education, research, business and public institutions.

The initiative therefore offers an important pathway for connecting SA SKILLS results with a wider Adriatic-Ionian blue skills community.
